Inglewood Nursery and Infant School
Everyone Matters
Welcome back. This half term we will be learning all about animals. We will be learning about the things animals need in order to live and grow and we will be finding out about different kinds of animals including those that live in Kenya. In P.E. we will be doing cricket with a visiting coach. Our D&T project will be about creating an animal home with a hinged door. In computing we will be making stories on screen. We are looking forward to book day and science week too.
During science week we have been learning about growth. We have found out where some minibeasts live and why they are suited to their habitats. We have dissected flowers to find out about the different parts. We have also planted some bulbs and seeds. We can't wait to look after our plants and watch them grow.
We are loving our cricket lessons with Fraser. He is teaching us lots of throwing and batting skills.
NSPCC Number Day
We had fun exploring the concept of what is or is not equal.
We based our learning around the book Equal Shmequal.
CLICK HERE to listen to the book being read aloud.
We compared number sentences and we weighed objects. We explored halving and symmetry.
We considered that even when numbers of objects are equal, the weight or size might not be.
We also learned about the NSPCC and the work they do to support children.
