Spring Term 2026
Maths
In Maths, we have created our own number blocks and matched these to the correct numeral. We have ordered the number blocks from 1 to 5 and played games to identify the missing number block.

English
We have read the text ‘A Perfect Day for It’ where the animal friends have fun sliding down the snowy mountain. We used our phonics to write short sentences such as ‘Up the hill.’ and ‘It was fun’. We enjoyed joining in with the story language as we became familiar with the text.
Understanding the World
We participated in the RSPB Big School Bird Watch. After making bird cakes and learning the names and features of different garden birds, we went into the school grounds to count the birds. Our results will be sent to the RSPB to help them learn which birds are doing well and which ones are in trouble.
We have continued to learn about Winter, in particular, animals which live in the polar regions. We located these areas on a globe and talked about what life must be like, living in one of the coldest places on earth.

PE
In gymnastics, we have enjoyed using the apparatus. We create different shapes on them – tuck, straight, star, pike and straddle.
