Our Art curriculum is designed to develop the knowledge, understanding and skill of our pupils across the Early Years and into Key Stage 1. It is vocabulary rich and provides oracy opportunities across the aspects of:

Drawing

Painting

Sculpture

Collage

The curriculum features a varied selection of artists for our pupils to study, in order; to develop their critical thinking skills, boost their own confidence and creativity, increase their cultural literacy and develop a life-long appreciation for Art.

We acknowledge that Art and design can be an essential means of creative expression which provides significant social and emotional benefits, such as; improved self-esteem, emotional regulation, and social confidence. Designed collaborative tasks and shared experiences develop empathy by understanding different perspectives, and build stronger relationships between pupils.

Art and design is delivered indoors and outdoors through; enabling environments, structured activities and lessons, creative clubs and extra-curricular focus days.
