The children have settled well into the Reception and have been fantastic at following new routines in class and around the school. We have been reading various stories linked to emotions and starting school. The children are becoming confident in describing how they are feeling. We have also been painting self-portraits, thinking carefully about all the features we need to include. We have amazing artists in Reception! In Maths, the children have been subitising 1, 2, and 3. They are confident and represent these numbers on their fingers in different ways.

The children explored what life was like for servants and children in the past. They were given the opportunity to handle different objects and a chance to dress up. The children were very good at comparing their lives to those of the past.
