This term in Year 1 we are learning all about our local area in geography. In science, we are finding out about our bodies and our senses and also learning about materials. 

In P.E. we are enjoying gymnastics, dance and spending time exploring all sorts of sporting activities with Action Ants. As the term moves on, we learn about Guy Fawkes in our history lessons and then we will find out about toys from the past, with a visit from Tullie House. 

Maths

Some of the pictures show us sorting objects in maths. We can sort by colour, size or shape. We also learned how to find more than and less than.

Geography

These pictures show us drawing plans and building models of our classroom.

We have also been busy mapping our school grounds.

Art

In Art we have been learning about a famous artist called Joan Miro.  We explored line, shape and colour to create some fantastic art work.  We have used pen, pencil and paint.

PSHE 

As part of our new Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum, we enjoyed a visit from SCARF. 

SCARF stands for Safety, Caring, Achievement, resilience and Friendship.

Design and Technology 

In our D&T lessons we have designed, sewn and decorated our own gingerbread men hand puppets.
