Spring 2024

Our first theme this term is called 'It's Cold Outside' and we will be talking and sharing our own Wintery experiences, while finding answers to these questions:

What does Winter look like?

Who is Jack Frost?

How do we keep warm?

What do animals do in Winter?

We will explore and investigate melting ice, snow and chocolate! We will think about how and why things happen and comment on what we discover.

Next we will learn about 'People Who Help Us' and ask:

What jobs do people do?

What do they wear?

How do they help us?

What does 'emergency' mean?

Who keeps us healthy?

How can I keep myself healthy and safe?

There will be opportunities to meet police officers and paramedics and use our imaginations to play at being doctors, nurses, vets and firefighters.

As the seasons change, our focus switches to Spring and Easter.

We will continue to learn nursery rhymes, letter sounds and have fun with blending, sound patterns, rhyme and alliteration. In Maths we will practise counting, make patterns and compare lengths, heights and capacities. Our key texts are: Jack Frost, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, One Cold Day, Emergency and Come Along Daisy
